Completed the game

I have played three previous Ratchet & Clank games on PlayStation 3 and feel very comfortable with the format. You play a Lombax, the galaxy is in danger and between witty comments you get to shoot Blargs and robots.

After my third game I felt done with it. I wasn't really enthusiastic about going back to the R&C universe for a reimagination of the first game, which this is. But then, the reviews started to come in with surprisingly high praises.

So I decided that it was time. I started up the game and immediately noticed a change from the last time I played R&C. The jokes in my previous game felt old, here they felt new. Where the levels in my previous game felt same old, here they felt fresh. Where the game play in my previous game felt drawn out and repetitive, here it kept reinventing itself to find new interesting angles.

Actually, I was surprised. Surprised that I actually could enjoy a Ratchet & Clank game again. And it is just about the right length. Not too long, and not too short. Just perfect.

If I'm going to complain about something, the bosses in this game are just a test of endurance. The worst kind of boss fights where it's just about doing the same thing for a long time without screwing up.

The ending is also a bit lame.
