Few things gives me such joy as finding a game that me and my son can play, which both of us enjoy. Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is a cute little indie game where you control a space ship, need to rescue cute bunnies while being attacked by aliens from all over. The problem is, you can only do one thing at a time and there are 7 stations on the ship to control.
It sucks to be alone. You will either shoot one of the four cannons, control the steering, move the shield or fire off the big cannon. However, if you are alone you can only do one of these things. If you are two playing at the same time, one of you can steer and the other shoot cannons.
So in coop mode this becomes a game about cooperation. You need to cooperate or you will die. It requires constant tactics like "you take the shield, I'll take the top shooter" or "you grab the shield, I'll get us out of here". When there are aliens coming from every direction and you're only able to do two things at once, things become quite hectic.
So, this game is awesome to play with your kids. It is quite boring to play alone, and I can only imagine how fun it would be playing 4 people coop.
Me and my son completed this game in a couple of hours. We played on the easiest difficulty and still died once and awhile, but it never felt cheap or too hard. Could really recommend it if you have someone to enjoy it with.
